Collaboration Challenge

We are pros in the planning, organization and execution of major prize competitions - Grand Challenges in ARPA-speak. The DARPA-sponsored Spectrum Collaboration Challenge (SC2) was one such example of SES’s mastery in handling complex, large events in front of live audiences.

SES played a critical role in supporting the DARPA Spectrum Collaboration Challenge (SC2) from 2016 to 2019.

SES was pivotal in executing all the logistics for three years of SC2 competition events, from overseeing the development and deployment of the competition infrastructure, establishing the rules of the competition to evaluating competitor submissions. In addition, SES managed the design, fabrication and installation of the SC2 final event showcase at Mobile World Congress Los Angeles 2019, featuring the world’s largest RF testbed - dubbed Colosseum - which ran competitor solutions over a 3-day period for conference attendees. SES managed all production and outreach elements to include scenic assets, audiovisual elements, multi-media products and websites showcasing the AI/ML spectrum management technology, competing teams, and DARPA as a whole. The final event featured a live stage show before an audience of thousands where play-by-play commentators unveiled the multi-year journey of the competition which awarded nearly $20M in prizes.
